Dear Walter Reed Families,

Welcome!  We are excited to have you as a part of our vibrant and active community here at Walter Reed, no matter what SLC your student is in.  We count our students as the brightest and most creative minds in middle school (and know that their parents are too!).  While dedicated teachers bring strong academics to each child, our booster club fundraises to support administration's goals and initiatives in supporting the defined curriculum.

While we work collaboratively with WRMS administration and PTSA, many hands offer a greater outcome, so we need you! Please take a moment to review our annual giving campaign, add our meeting dates to your calendar, and reach out to see how you can pitch in.  It takes all of us to do a part, and in doing so, you (and your student) will gain immensely!

FRIENDS OF REED IS YOU!

A powerful, non-profit, parent volunteer group dedicated to the enrichment of every student at WRMS. Your work and donations are vital to fill the budget gap that LAUSD does not cover, moreover, they bring middle school to life through technology upgrades and grade-level local field trips!

YOUR SUPPORT

Being involved in Friends of Reed, your student benefits from the collective work of many. There are many ways families can contribute:

TIME - Attend Friends of Reed meetings.  You’ll be “in the know”.

TALENT - Join the Board or a Committee.  You will help shape the course and direction of Friends of Reed while making lifelong friends.

TREASURE - Donate to our annual giving campaign.  For 2019-2020, these funds will purchase new Chromebooks and pay for transportation needed for local, grade-level daytime field trips.  These are dependent on your generous support.

We look forward to meeting you and working alongside so many familiar faces. Most of all we look forward to this next chapter in your student’s life and wish you all a year to remember.

All the best,

Lynn Gruzen & Lesli Swierad
